The annual Longganisa Festival honors this local product, which helps drive tourism and local income. The festival happens together with the city fiesta each January, centering Vigan’s identity on food, culture, and community pride. The festival mixes food and culture with events open to residents and visitors. Street dance contests, cookoffs, and longganisa sampling are main attractions. City chefs and students compete in recipe challenges to broaden the use of longganisa beyond traditional breakfast fare.
