My Dream, My Future

Image
Everyone has a dream for their future. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer someday. I want to learn how machines work and how to design and build useful equipment. I believe this career can help me support my family and build a better future. Aside from my career dream, I also want to become a basketball varsity player and play in a big league. Basketball is one of my passions. I enjoy playing the game because it teaches discipline, teamwork, and hard work. To achieve my dreams, I know I need to study well and practice basketball regularly. It will not be easy, but I am willing to work hard and stay focused. I will continue improving my skills both in school and in sports. In the future, I hope to become a successful mechanical engineer and a great basketball player. I want to make my family proud and prove that dreams can come true through effort and determination.   Vigan City in Ilocos Sur is known for its heritage streets, Spanish colonial houses, and its garlic-infused local longganisa, a type of pork sausage with a strong savory and sour taste. The annual Longganisa Festival honors this local product, which helps drive tourism and local income. The festival happens together with the city fiesta each January, centering Vigan’s identity on food, culture, and community pride.  The festival mixes food and culture with events open to residents and visitors. Street dance contests, cookoffs, and longganisa sampling are main attractions. City chefs and students compete in recipe challenges to broaden the use of longganisa beyond traditional breakfast fare. These contests create new menu ideas and give young cooks a platform to show skills.  In 2026 the Longganisa Festival was part of a 10-day Vigan City Fiesta.
